Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Screentack application and the screentack.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Varie.AI LLC ("Varie AI", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Screentack is a macOS application for capturing, annotating, and recording your screen, including features that prepare that content for use with AI tools. The Service also includes this website and related documentation.

2. License

Subject to these Terms and your payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Screentack on Mac computers you own or control, for your personal or internal business use.

A purchase is a one-time license for the version you buy, including updates we make available for that version. We may offer optional paid upgrades for future major versions.

3. Free trial

Screentack offers a free trial period. During the trial you may evaluate paid features. When the trial ends, paid features require a valid license. We may change the trial length or terms for future users.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) copy, resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the Service; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by law; (c) remove proprietary notices; (d) use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others, including capturing or sharing content you do not have the right to capture or share; or (e) circumvent licensing or usage limits.

5. Payments, pricing, and taxes

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), which acts as our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles the transaction, billing, and applicable taxes, and its terms and privacy policy also apply to your purchase. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases.

6. Refunds

Purchases are covered by our Refund Policy, which offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. The Refund Policy is incorporated into these Terms.

7. Privacy and your content

Screentack is designed to run on your device. Screenshots, recordings, and other content you capture are processed and stored locally on your Mac and are not uploaded to us. License activation communicates with Lemon Squeezy to verify your purchase. Our Privacy Policy explains how the website and our services handle personal data.

You retain all rights to the content you capture. You are solely responsible for that content and for using the Service in compliance with applicable laws and the rights of any third parties whose screens or data you capture.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, and trademarks — is owned by Varie AI and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights other than the license above.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Varie AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

These Terms apply while you use the Service. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, you must stop using and delete the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notice on the website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable local law requires otherwise.
